We went to the coast from the 22nd till the 3rd of January. It was a lovely break, good time with family and a GREAT time to watch Theodore explore the sand....The water was still a bit scary though!

Fun!

So many awesome people gave us used toys since their kids outgrew it....Theodore LOVES it!

Elsa and I recently decided to change our normal Saturday routine. Rather that trying (and usually failing) to get work done, we are now trying to avoid work altogether. The last two have been great days of rest! Last week we slept in, and then made the best of the sunshine as we hopped over the hills to Halfmoonbay - definitely the best day we've had on any Californian beach to date. We walked along the ocean to the spectacular Halfmoonbay Links... Oh, if I were a rich man! Today started early as I left for San Francisco at 5:15am to watch the Super 14 semi's. I'm really glad the Bulls made the trip worthwhile! This afternoon we made good for a year's worth of intentions to see our great rivals accross the Bay (Cal). We walked around the Berkeley campus and had Americano's at a popular student hangout. Unfortunately the tree-huggers were removed in November :-(. I finished off the day with the new Star Trek movie in the company of two friends (Elsa graciously decli...

The nursery is ready...

The contribution I painted for the nursery...and the cute giraffe night light Stephan made! Baby Joostie has a nursery! We completed it this past weekend...it was fun to paint, put up a wallpaper border and paint decorations for the little guy...Grandpa and grandma Strydom gave us a beautiful crib, cute bedding for the crib, and a baby monitor. Grandpa and grandma Jooste, the picture above the bed, curtains, bedding for the bed and the toy above the changing station...amongst heaps of clothes, a humidifier and other accessories! My brother and sister-in-law also helped a ton by lending us a baby bathtub, a bottle sterilizer, a rocking chair and a lot of encouragement!! Our baby boy is due in a little less than 3 weeks...we are super excited and quite nervous at the same time, but we trust that God will provide for us as He always has...
